She's Still There by Chrystal Evans Hurst

We all have times where were get lost. Times where our life doesn't exactly look like the one we had imagined. In Chrystal Evans Hurst's new book, She's Still There, she tackles the subject of feeling like you have lost yourself and the path you are on.

With refreshing honesty and insight into her life, Hurst shows the reader that she can actually sympathize with the feelings of being lost and not knowing who you are because she has been there, many times. Sometimes it's hard to understand that an author is still a person and has some of the same "issues" that you deal with on a regular bases, but Hurst shows you that she too has felt lost, many times in her life and she helps you address what has helped pull you off track and shows you how you can get back on, all the while, helping you rediscover who you truly are.

This book came at the perfect time for me. I have been thinking about and pondering EVERYTHING she talks about. Through reading this book, I have found some help with ways to start finding myself again. Hurst is very convicting and has shown that we have control, with God, over whether we allow ourselves to get distracted and veer off path.

What I have found extremely helpful, besides her comforting and inspiring words, are the refection questions that she has included at the end of each chapter. These questions have allowed me to journal and dig deep into myself and find who I am in Christ and to know that I am a creation of God.  She shares practical information that she has used to find who she was when she got off track and lost.

I really love this book and feel it's the best book I have read all year.

One suggestion...don't rush through this book. Take your time, ride along with Hurst, and rediscover yourself and the path that God wants you to walk.
