Jesus Always by Sarah Young

I have been a fan of Jesus Calling every since it came out. I loved that the devotions were written as if Jesus was talking directly to you. Now, I know this is a polarizing concept since you either love it or hate it, but I happen to fall on the side of being someone who loves this writing style and have a tendency to gain a little more from each devotion.

In Jesus Always: Embracing Joy in His Presence, Sarah Young returns with the same style of devotional as in Jesus Calling. I love the devotions as they are encouraging, uplifting and packed with words that help inspire you to seek out more joy in your life. As with the past devotionals, Young has them writing as if you are hearing directly from Jesus. Like I said earlier, I actually loved this style of writing, but if you had any concerns or issues with it from Jesus Calling, then this devotional is not for you. Along with the devotionals she includes scripture references that you can look up to further the takeaway from the day's devotional.

What I really liked about this book, as opposed to her first one, is the large print version that I was able to review. I think the larger print makes the book more readable and it give you more room to highlight what stand out to you.

As for the book itself...The cover is a brown leather-like look and feel which gives this book a timeless feel and lasting appeal. It almost feels like you are reading a journal directly from Jesus written to you. There is a very vintage, handed down feel to this book and that makes it feel even more personal. Like it was written just for you.
