(Un)Qualified by Steven Furtick

This is the first book of Steven Furtick's that I have read. Although I heard wonderful things about his writing, I never took the times to seek out one of his book. (Un)Qualified caught my attention during a time where I was/am feeling very unqualified for what God is calling me too.

I was shocked at how easy this book was to read. I think I went into it with a preconceived notion that it would be deeply theological and over my head. It was a pleasant surprise that the writing was so down to earth and relatable.

Addressing why you might feel unqualified and knowing who you are in God helps you to understand how you can let go and follow the path God has you on. There is one thing that stood out that I actually loved and it was the fact that Furtick calls you to be genuine with yourself and God. Be who God created you to be and let Him use the REAL you.

While I liked this book, I can't say that I loved it. Yes, there were things that helped me feel a little more "qualified" when it comes to my path, but I guess I wish there was more. I know that God will qualify the called, but it seems like some of the writing in this book I already knew from previous sermons, books, speeches.
