The Devotional for Women by Rhonda Harrington Kelley & Dorothy Kelley Patterson

When I was first starting out on my journey of faith and a relationship with God I loved devotionals. They were easy to read, took very little time out of my day, and helped me focus my heart. But as I continue to grow in my walk I have slowly turned away from devotionals as my quiet time since most of them have been pulling me away from my bible instead of drawing me closer to it and to God. My desire is to be in my bible, not away from it. There is one devotional however, that I took a chance on, that I actually really love. It's The Devotional For Women from B&H Publishing by Rhonda Harrington Kelley & Dorothy Kelley Patterson.

My expectations of this devotional were the same as I have with most others...fluffy and feel good, no real substance. But I was pleasantly surprised when I started reading. Each day related DIRECTLY to scripture and refereed you back to your bible. Instead of keeping you from your bible, this devotional draws you closer to God's word. I LOVED this.

Each day starts with  reference to the scripture that the daily devotional is about and then a short verse just to get you started. You then jump into your devotional and follow that up with a short prayer. At the bottom of the second page is a section for you to record your reflections. This is a great feature that is often overlooked in case you don't have a journal.

My favorite feature is tucked at the very back and it's a bible in a year reading plan. What makes this so wonderful is that they reading plan and devotional coincide with each other.

This devotional truly pushes you towards a stronger, more meaningful relationship with God, and an increased knowledge of His Word! I think this might be the best devotional I have ever read.
