The Healthy Mind Cookbook by Rebecca Katz

When we think about eating to nourish our bodies we think of every part except the brain. It’s commonly overlooked and most often the place we need the most nourishment. In The Healthy Mind Cookbook, Rebecca Katz {along with Mat Edelson} uses research to show how brain function can be improved by harnessing the power of food and proper nutrition.

What I love about this book, besides the recipes, is all the information Katz gives to back up her thought. This is a well researched book, fueled by love, the love for a father who died of dementia. You can tell she is really passionate about what she is writing, and what better reason, than to help others and possibly keep them from struggling with the same medical problem.

The recipes, themselves, are fantastic. There is such a variety that you will never get bored. You can enjoy flavorful eats that are filled with mind benefiting nutrients. There is even a section at the beginning of the book where Katz lists the food and what it’s benefit is.

Some of the recipes included are:
  • Kale Quinoa Salad
  • Sunshine Up Baked Eggs
  • Bejeweled Forbidden Rice Salad
  • Ginger Lime Sweet Potato Mash
  • Turkish Lamb Sliders

Don’t those all sound tasty?

There are also drink, elixir, tonics, and sweets recipes.

I love this book and it would be a great addition to any healthy living lifestyle.
