The Woman's Study Bible, NIV, Full Color Edition
I have been a huge fan of the Woman's Study Bible since it first came out a few years ago. There is so much that I just love about it, that it has become my favorite bible and my go-to for connecting with God. There are so many wonderful features, but at the same time, there were things that I would have loved to see in the older one that are now present in the new, full color, Woman's Study bible.
To get started, this is in the NIV translation which is one of the most popular and recognized translations. It's easy to read and understand, but still keeps biblical text in the context that it should. Most people know about the NIV and are failure with it so I won't be going into the translation too much other than to say, it's one of my favorites.
As for the features of this bible, I have to say that there are some things I loved and one thing that is missing that would have been nice to have it included.
Since this is a study bible, there are notes in the footnote section of each page. I have found this to be a nice addition to help clarify some of the scripture that I might not understand or just need a little more information about. Along with the notes, there are small sections throughout that have more information that can help you implement your reading into daily life by offering commentary on issues such as mental health, family life, biographies of women in scripture and so much more. Along with the notes there are article that help show you how to have a better relationship with God and encourage you to live a more Christ-like life.
One of my favorite features of this bible that is included in the full color that was not in the original was the fact that it's a red letter bible. This is the one feature that I would have loved seeing in the first one, but I am happy to have in this version. It was a nice feature that is greatly appreciated and helps my reading so much. But, what this bible has the other one didn't, this bible is lacking one feature that the original had...a ribbon marker. Now, this might not be important to you, but for me, I really enjoy being able to mark my spot. Yes, I can add some ribbon, but it just would have been nice to have that little extra feature.
All in all, I enjoy this bible and I am thrilled that I can add this one to my collection. It's a wonderful bible and I know that you will enjoy it just as much as I have.
