The Life-giving Parent by Clay & Sally Clarkson

I have been in love with the Life-giving series from Sally Clarkson from the beginning. It's such a wonderful resource to have in your life if you have a family, or in the case of the previous two book, even if you don't have a family of your own. In her newest book, The Life-giving Parent, she teams up with her husband Clay Clarkson to help encourage parents in their God-given walk of parenthood.

In her typical writing style, Sally, along with her husband, speak to the reader just like they are an old friend. They inspires the reader to work on their walk with God before they can teach their children about their walk. We must be leading by example and it's evident that this is one of the first things they are addressing in this book.

Then they go on to show you how to cultivate Godly character in your children and how to grow their faith as they grow physically. There are many applicable principles in this book that you can easily implement into your parenting style. Parenting doesn't have to be hard and they share how you can make it a little easier, with God's help, and let your children be children, all the while, teaching them how to live a good, Christian life.

What I have always loved about Sally Clarkson's books is that she shares her life as example, and this book is no different. It's nice to see what she has done and what parenting skills she has learned that I might not know about and how I can use them to make my parenting better. We could all use a little help along the way because parenting is hard.

Reading this book made me feel like I had Sally and Clay waking right beside me, showing me how I can be a better mother. It was a very encouraging and inspiring read and I highly reccomend it for EVERY Christian parent. There is also a companion study guide and it would make a great group study for you and your friends, or even in a church small group setting.
