Be the Gift by Ann Voskamp

I am a huge fan of Ann Voskamp's so when I saw that she has written another book and it was up for review, I had to snag it. Be The Gift is a short book that encourages you to go out there and make a difference in the world, even if it's just a small difference.

Be the Gift is a great inspiration for when you feel like you are extremely broken and have nothing left to give, there is still some small gift you can give someone else. We all go through suffering at some point in our life, but we can get past all the pain and suffering if we chose too.

Even though the physical size of this book isn't large it is large on the inside and very weighty in what Voskamp has to say. This was probably one of the most convicting books I have read in a long time and I think the publishers and Voskamp knew that would be the case. To break up the words of this book they included beautiful color photographs that will take you to a farm, traveling through your memories and even take a walk through Voskamp's mind. They truly are stunning photographs and perfectly placed to enhance the book instead of taking away from her writing.

Along with the moving words from Voskamp, there is a small place to journal the small gifts you have given others. Also included is a 60 day challenge list for you to check off, of the gifts you can give. Now, these gifts are not things you will need to purchase, and some aren't even material, but they are actions you can do to help others around you. Some of the gifts on the list are: giving someone the benefit of the doubt, call someone and thank them for a good memory you have, and inviting someone to do something with you. Easy and attainable, small gestures that just might make someones day/week/month/year.

We have the opportunity to change other's lives and be a perfect example of our savior, even though our brokenness and suffering. We just have to make the decision to do so.
