Big and Little Coloring Devotional by Rachel C. Swanson

I have most willingly accepted the new "trend" of adult coloring books and you can see some of my previous reviews on others, but in this review I will focus on the newest one from B & H Publishing titled Big and Little Coloring Devotional that was written by Rachel C. Swanson and illustrated by Jacy Corral.

This coloring book was designed differently than most as it has the binding at the top of the page so that you can open it flat and coloring the adult image while your child colors the one that was designed for them. The actual images are gorgeous and perfect for each age group. The kids pictures have larger coloring spaces, less on the page to color, and graphics that will appeal to their senses. The adult pages have smaller, more intricate graphics, along with some repeating patterns that will help you slow down and focus.

Since this is a devotional, as well as a coloring book, each page includes a short devotional that are a fantastic addition to the graphics. For the kids, there is a scripture verse that your child will focus on while coloring the page, but you could take this a step farther and use this for a memory verse. As for the adult page, there is a beautifully written devotional that will help you focus on God and everything He has said while you color.

I really love this coloring book because my kids are always asking for us to color together and now we can focus on devotional time as well as coloring together. This amazing creation is a welcomed gift that fills a need perfectly. I completely agree with the author and illustrator in that this was a God-thing and God orchestrated. You can read about that story in the opening of the book. It's beautiful and I love seeing how God worked to bring this into the world.

I really want to print these on extra paper, color them and then frame them. They are wonderful!!!
