Hope Unfolding by Becky Thompson

Hope Unfolding by Becky Thompson is a book with some life-giving truths and hope that will help even the most overwhelmed momma.

Becky Thompson is the creator and author of the blog Scissortail SILK and a city girl who was transplanted into Oklahoma. This book starts out with her talking becoming a mom and the struggles that came before being given the gift of motherhood, living in Oklahoma, and how she started her blog. Thompson gives us more insight into her life as the book goes along and there are times where her stories hit your heart and fill you with an overwhelming hope.

One story that stood out to me, and still does, is the one about her son and the stranger in a cafe. Her son was so concerned about whether this stranger knew Jesus or not, so much so Thompson went back to the cafe to see if the stranger was still there so that her son could ask him if he knew Jesus...I don't want to give away the whole story, but it's one that will stick with me and continue to inspire me in making sure my kids have a solid foundation in faith so they can help others.

As I read through the book, some of the parts were a little slow, for me at least, but I kept getting this small nudge to keep reading, just keep reading. Then, a couple pages after I wanted to stop, bam! There were some truths, biblical truths, that hit home and were definitely necessary to hear.

I wasn't sure I would like this book, especially when I thought it was going to be a very slow read, but I am glad I kept going and really enjoyed my small peak into Becky Thompson's life.
