Strong and Kind by Korie Robertson

I have a love-hate relationship with parenting books. I either love what nuggets of wisdom they hold between their cover or I hate the fact that the author wants to preach to me or tell me how much of a better parent they are than I . But, I have to say that Strong and Kind by Korie Robertson was one of the love books.

Don't get me wrong, I don't usually fall into the hype of reality TV stars and when they come out with a new "whatever," but seeing as the Robertson's are so family oriented I thought I would give Korie's new book a try. I had mixed emotions about this book when I first got it and was hoping that it wasn't just like all the others that promote more than they educate.

I was pleasantly surprised. Her book isn't filled with do's and don'ts, but instead, inspiration to help build strong characteristics in your children that will help them become great adults. Based upon a biblical foundation, Korie encourages us to model the qualities that we want to impart in our children because there is no better way for them to learn than by example.

Whether you know who the Robertson's are or not there is something you can glean from this book if your goal is to raise happy, healthy, successful kids into amazing adults.
